First Chapter Critiques
First impressions matter, and your opening chapters are your best chance to hook the reader.
Hi. I'm Jinx, a developmental editor specializing in romance and fantasy. With this service, I'll read your opening chapters from both a reader's and an editor's perspective. I’ll leave in-line comments to share my immediate reactions as I read through the manuscript, and if I notice areas that could be strengthened, I'll also suggest improvements.
Along with the comments, you'll receive a 2 to 3 page report where I'll rave about the parts I loved, speculate on where I think the story might go, and provide general feedback on topics such as:
